Majazaura
Classification: Bird-bottomed dinosaurs, ornithopods, duck-billed dinosaurs
Body length: 9 m
Body weight: 4 t
Period: Late Cretaceous
Localities: North America
Majazaura was a large herbivorous, anchovid dinosaur. Mayasaurs were the first dinosaurs to be found with their children, eggs and nests. This shows that they cared for their children.
In Montana, ten thousand Mayasaur fossils have been found in one place, strongly suggesting that they lived in herds. They walked on all fours and were relatively fast dinosaurs.
The front legs of Majazaurs were much shorter than the back legs. Running was the only way for them to escape from carnivores.
