Ruyangosaurus
Classification: Lizarddecks Dinosaurs, sauropods
Body length: 30 m
Body weight: 85 t
Period: Late Cretaceous
Localities: Asia
Rujangosaurus was one of the largest dinosaurs ever to walk the Earth. An adult dinosaur was about 25 000 times bigger than a newborn.
Because of their size, Rujangosaurus were extremely slow, walking at around 8 km per hour. The fossils show that the skin of these dinosaurs was covered with small, bead-like scales. They were able to stand on their back two legs and then use their front legs to trample any attacker. Rujangosaurs were herbivores. Due to their size, they mainly ate leaves from trees.
