Although it had no teeth, pteranodontidae was a predatory animal. It fed on fish it caught on the surface of the ocean, clams, crabs, insects and dead animals it found on land.
It probably hunted like a modern pelican, scooping fish out of the water and swallowing them whole. Pteranodontidae could flap its wings and fly with power. They flew long distances with their large, easily folded wings.
