Vulcanodontidae was a long-necked, long-tailed herbivore with a small head, thick legs and large body. It had nail-like claws on its feet and an enlarged claw on each big toe. Its front legs were relatively long.
Like other sauropods, Vulcanodontidae probably laid eggs but did not care for them. This large, heavy reptile fed exclusively on plants – ferns, tree leaves, etc. Every day, it had to eat a huge amount of them to sustain itself.
The Vulcanodontidae spent most of its time eating.
